January 12th - An update from the Poonsab Preschool, Bangkok

12 Jan 2015

Here's a brief update on what has been going on at this preschool for children who live in one of Bangkok’s slum districts:

In November parents, teachers, and the local community helped repair roofs and doors, and painted the area where a fire caused severe damage earlier in the year. The district office decided to turn the empty space left by the fire into a green space – and it’s now open for everyone in the community.

Recently, the school received a visit from a travelling library, run by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. The school also had a visit from members of the district office council and a health team, who gave the children free polio vaccines.

The preschool celebrated Christmas and New Year with games and shows performed by the children and teachers and, to their delight, every child received a Christmas present.

Since January the Poonsab preschool have enrolled a further 10 students!
